Plastic Free: How I Kicked the Plastic Habit and How You Can Too
Living Plastic-Free: Five years ago, after learning about the devastating effects of plastic pollution on the environment and human health, Beth Terry began an experiment to see if she could live without buying any new plastic. Since then, she has reduced her plastic waste to less than two percent of the national average. That experiment turned into the popular blog MyPlasticFreeLife.com and new book, Plastic-Free: How I Kicked the Plastic Habit and How You Can Too. During her talk, Terry will share solutions, stories, and the reasons why, despite what critics assert, our personal actions really do make a difference. Beth will be available to sign books and answer questions after her presentation.
Consider this opportunity for hands-on training to prepare you to work with the public in marine science and conservation. Work with the animals at our seawater table and shark pool, enjoy expanded and in-depth learning opportunities, and interact with the Long Marine Lab community. No experience necessary. Training will be held October 14, 15, 22, and 23. More information about volunteering available online or call (831) 459-3800.
